Rodger L. Smith graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Speech in 1973. He earned his JD at George Mason University, and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1977.
Smith was later admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 1978, and admitted to practice in the United States District Court Eastern and Western District of Virginia. He was an attorney for Page County, Virginia for 27 years.
Rodger has been in private practice for 45 years.
